President’s Report – 3/14 PTA Meeting
Thanks to all who joined us for elections and more early Monday morning!
Mr. Conlon reported on the location of the proposed maker space lab, possibly as a part of the current library and computer lab space. He is also looking into our teachers piloting a coding teacher training for next year. We spoke about the PTA subsidizing the turf resurfacing of the playground.
TOW parent Christine de Bretteville will spearhead an optional, after-school reading of “I am Jazz” hosted at TOW for the National Day of Action for Transgender Youth on April 28, cosponsored by National Education foundation. The PTA will support this event and we discussed making the event broader and about accepting all differences, in hopes of encouraging high attendance and community support.
Financials to date were presented and our strong financial position continues. We have a large amount in our unallocated funds that we will be able to use to benefit the school, possibly with the playground resurfacing project and a potential TOW graduate scholarship.
