Weekly Update: 5/14 – 5/22

 In News

Hello TOW Families,

Thanks for making our staff and teachers feel the love this week. The food, gifts and cards are much appreciated. This week was such a wonderful reminder of why Top of the World is an incredible place to call home.

Congrats to our third through fifth graders who have wrapped up CAASPP testing over these past 4 weeks. It was great seeing you all try your best!! We are looking forward to getting the results in the coming month or so.

PRINCIPAL BLAST

EXCUSED VS. UNEXCUSED ABSENCES

We wanted to clarify that in the eyes of the state of California, the only absence that we can code excused is for illness. Illnesses over three straight will also require a doctor’s note. Any other absence, regardless of reason, is coded as unexcused. Please understand that this does not negatively impact your child, unless of course you have excessive absences. Feel free to contact Claudia for further clarification.

CLASS PLACEMENTS FOR NEXT YEAR

It is a TOW policy to not accept parent requests for specific teachers for the following year. Teachers, support staff, and myself have been working together to build our classes for next year. We are spending quite a bit of time ensuring the classes are balanced and that students are appropriately placed to meet their diverse needs.

TRAFFIC ALERT – LCAD GRADUATION

Heads up that LCAD graduation is this Monday, May 18th in the early afternoon. The traffic may be a challenge in the canyon.
