Weekly Update: 6/11 – 6/18
Hello TOW Families,
It’s hard to imagine but this is the last weekly update of the school year. It has been an amazing first year as your principal. Thank you for your support and continuing to make TOW an incredible place to learn and work. Enjoy the summer break with family and friends. Be safe and we’ll see you all in September.
PRINCIPAL BLAST
5th GRADE PROMOTION
Thursday’s 5th grade promotion schedule:
7:45 – 8:10 – parent seating
8:15 – procession begins
9:55 – closing ceremony
10:00 – reception on patio
Dress code: Boys are asked to wear pants and a collared shirt (Suits and ties are optional). Girls are asked to avoid strapless dresses or wear a sweater covering bare shoulders and avoid high-heeled shoes. Please be sure dresses are of appropriate length.
We encourage parents to keep TOW siblings in their classrooms so they can enjoy the last day with their classmates. If you are planning to leave with your child after the reception please be sure to sign them out in the main office.
LAST CALL FOR LOST & FOUND
All items in the lost and found box will be donated on June 22. Parents please come up–take a look for missing sweatshirts, jackets, lunch boxes, etc.
NEXT SCHOOL YEAR
Look for a mailing from the district in early August with information about completing the online data confirmation for each of your children. The mailing will also include information about purchasing a bus pass. School begins Tuesday, September 8. Class lists will be posted on the glass windows at TOW front office on Friday, September 4 at 4:00pm.

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB
Boys and Girls Club will be closed in prep for summer for the week of June 15-19.
FÊTE DE LA MUSIQUE
The Laguna Beach Sister Cities Association’s Fête de la Musique will take place on the streets of downtown Laguna Beach on Saturday afternoon, June 20. Festivities start at noon at Main Beach with face painting, costumes and a children’s parade.
TOW PTA NEWS
AFTER-SCHOOL IDEAS
PTA is reviewing new after-school class ideas ranging from technology to comedy to photography, even ecology! We’re looking specifically for experts (instructors or volunteers) from the community who would like to run a class, which allows us to provide lower cost classes versus those run by outside vendors. If you, or someone you know, have an idea for a class that you could teach at TOW, let us know and we’ll tell you more about the requirements.
