Staff Appreciation Week is the perfect time to personally thank your students’ teachers and school staff members for their sacrifices and support for children throughout the year, and let them know their efforts are not going unnoticed.

May 1 – May 5

In an effort to uniformly recognize our wonderful staff at TOW, the following activities have been planned for Staff Appreciation Week. We’re planning to WOW our teachers and staff and we need your help to make this week a success! We are hoping for full school participation in each daily WOW, plus each grade level is assigned to help bring food to one POWER UP event. Please look for communication from your room parent, or contact Wendy Joy for more information.

Please note that there’s no need to spend a lot of money and nothing is mandatory. The big focus this year is having students and parents write personal notes of gratitude to all teachers and staff.

Monday, May 1
WOW: Door Decorating
POWER UP: Superhero Breakfast Bar (food provided by Kinder and 1st grade)

Tuesday, May 2
WOW: Grant a Teacher’s Wish
POWER UP: Beverage/ Dessert Day (food provided by 2nd and 3rd grade)

Wednesday, May 3
WOW: Wear Your Teacher’s Favorite Color or Bring a Flower
POWER UP: Teacher & Staff Lunch in the MPR 11:20 – 12:40

Thursday, May 4
WOW: Thank You Notes

Friday, May 5
WOW: Email a Teacher or Staff Member
POWER UP: Souper Sandwich Lunch (food provided by 4th & 5th grade)

Monday: Door Decorating

Your room parent will send out a “My teacher is a superhero because…” template (.pdf) file and other directions. It would be great if your kid could fill out and bring back to school by Monday, May 1.

Tuesday: Grant a Teacher’s Wish

Your room parent will reach out with a wish list from your teacher (things like books, kleenex, wipes, etc.). It would be awesome if your child can bring in one of these items on Tuesday, May 2.

Wednesday: Wear Your Teacher’s Favorite Color and/or Bring a Flower!

Look for an email from your room parent with your teacher’s favorite color and flower, and have your child could wear something the color and/or bring in a flower (home picked are great!) on Wednesday.

Thursday: Thank You Notes

We’d love for students to hand write a note for their teacher and a staff member. You will get a template, but originality and creativity is also encouraged! Students should bring in their notes on Thursday and give directly to the teacher and staff members (think about coaches, bus drivers, special aides, front office staff, administrators).

Friday: Email a Teacher or Staff Member

An extension of Thursday, but a little bit easier…nothing to remember to bring to school! Anytime during the day, send a quick email to your child’s current teacher (and past teachers, if you’d like!), plus a special staff member. Share a story or include a message of how they’ve made a difference in your child’s life. It’ll be like a Facebook birthday, but better.

Thanks for all your help making this week special! Sign up to help!
